10-2009
The Conservatory of Amsterdam is awarded the 2009 Gyproc Trophy.
The judges were unanimous regarding which project stood head and shoulders above the rest: the new Conservatory in Amsterdam. This very complicated building was designed by de Architekten Cie. / Frits van Dongen, and the interior constructed by MAT Zaltbommel of the Netherlands. Given the diversity in material applications, the logistic complexity of the implementation plan and the quality of the work produced, the jury found the interior of the Conservatory in Amsterdam in conjunction with the architecture a very successful composition.
The Dutch winner will compete for the International Saint-Gobain Gyproc Trophy on June 4, 2010 in Amsterdam. The Conservatory of Amsterdam will be pitted against entries from 39 different countries for the most prestigious and successful building project in the world of Gyproc.
