de Architekten Cie. designs Swimmingpool.

Architects Branimir Medic from de Architekten Cie. has been assigned by the municipality of Amsterdam to design the new Noorderparkbad in Amsterdam-Noord. The pool will be built on the site of the current Floraparkbad.

The swimmingpool will get indoor and outdoor pools and a catering facility. The pool complex must meet several sustainability requirements. The design should aim at a low consumption of energy and water. Also, the complex is built with recyclable materials such as wood and rubble granules (instead of standard concrete).

The preliminary design of de Architekten Cie. is presented in early 2012. The construction of the pool will be launched in February 2013.
