Branimir Medić graduated from the Faculty of Architecture van the University of Zagreb, Croatia, in 1987. He worked together with Pero Puljiz for various architecture firms in Zagreb. In 1990 they continued their studies at the Berlage Institute in Amsterdam, where they both attained a Master of Excellence in Architecture degree.

During their studies they received an honourable mention for the harmonization of Yokohama’s city centre and port. Branimir Medić then worked for Kees Christiaanse Architects & Planners and UN Studio in Amsterdam. In 1995 he won first prize in the Prix de Rome and together with Pero Puljiz he founded the Medić + Puljiz architecture bureau, which was affiliated with de Architekten Cie. Having worked with the Cie. for a few years they both became partners in this bureau in 1998.

In 1999 they received an honourable mention for their design for the Contemporary Art Museum in Zagreb and in 2003 they won the international competition for the Cultural and Administrative Complex in Montreal, Canada. Their work ranges from detached houses and housing projects to large offices and mixed-use projects such as the Menzis headquarters in Groningen and the Mahler 4 residential tower in Amsterdam’s Zuidas development.

At the moment, Branimir Medić is working on an Art Centre for the city of Kaohsiung in Taiwan and on a masterplan for a seaside development for Tianjin in China.
