Café-restaurant OPEN, Amsterdam
Café-restaurant OPEN is a simple, pure, transparent volume. It fits precisely onto the disused railway bridge at the Westerdokskade in Amsterdam. The undulation of the pivoting windows results in an elegant glazed façade, adding a subtle refinement to the modernistic volume.
Two detached volumes accommodating the kitchen, cloakroom, toilets and bar are inserted into the space. This ensures it is possible to appreciate the whole of the interior space, retaining its spacious and airy character.
