The building is a combination of exhibition space and public space. A circular internal courtyard provides fresh air, light and a sense of space for the museum’s topmost floor, where the exhibition halls and the public entrance are situated. This level seems to float above a pyramid of two storeys, which accommodates depots and administrative offices. Escalators lead up towards the plaza on two sides. Luxury additions such as mechanical sun blinds and a waterfall enhance the square’s urban allure.
