Spatial Development Concept for Ondiep, Utrecht

Transforming five football pitches into a sporty, multifunctional meeting place: this scenario for a section of the Utrecht district of Ondiep was elaborated into a number of spatial explorations with the collaboration of residents and other stakeholders. It was decided to cluster three new football pitches along the side of the park with most traffic and to situate residential blocks within the continuation of the existing neighbourhood. A through street reinforces the relationship between the neighbourhood and the sports fields. The proposed maximum of 108 dwellings can either be clustered together or realized as two country house-like blocks.
